NIDA Biomarker Study Flyer and FAQ

FSPHP-NIDA Imaging Biomarker Study

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)/National Institutes of Health (NIH), in collaboration with the Federation of State Physician Health Programs (FSPHP), is conducting a research study to understand how neural circuitry and human physiology is changed by addiction and repaired by recovery.  Our PHP follows your recovery status closely – we understand your journey in recovery better than any other set of people in the world. This cohort—YOU—are essential to the goal of this research study – to identify brain biomarkers of addiction and thus, optimize the efficacy of currently available therapeutics.

Please contact Betty Jo Salmeron, M.D. at (443) 740-2651 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to learn more.   More information about the study is here too: https://fsphp.memberclicks.net/how-php-participants-can-get-involved

If you are interested, please do NOT come to the PHP staff to ask questions. This is for two reasons. 1) If you decide to participate, you must do so in a completely voluntary fashion. We, the PHP, will not know of your decision until you have already made it. 2) It is important for you to hear the details of the study directly from the researchers. Your decision to participate in this study will not affect your status in the PHP in any way, positively or negatively.

Thank you for your consideration to participate in this great opportunity!
